I remember seeing the screenshot.

I was mortified.

A sweet lady in her early 70s had just posted in a Facebook group about finally getting her raised bed put together. Between all the nuts, bolts, screws, sweat and extra help, she completed it in 3 days.

.... 3 days??!?!

Yes, 3 days.

When Justin and I had our first call about building the Gro-Rite Metal Raised Garden Bed a little over 2 years ago, we had people like this sweet lady in mind.

Over and over again, we'd hear stories of people who would be so excited about raised bed gardening, only to experience the nightmare of assembling the beds tiny piece by tiny piece. Sadly, many people just give up altogether because getting started is too hard.

We knew there had to be a better way. After all, we had experienced the pain ourselves with building wooden raised beds. All that work to get started, and they would deteriorate in just a few years.

So, we started with a simple idea. The raised bed we would create needed to fit 2 criteria:

1. No tools needed.
2. Assemble in 10 minutes or less.

And, judging by the 40+ 5-star reviews (at the time of this writing), we have accomplished these goals.

But it's more than just setting some criteria to design a breath-of-fresh-air product that solved a very painful problem; it's a mindset, a way of thinking, that permeates all we do.

"No Tools Needed" is:

  • Making the complicated simple. If a product is complicated to assemble or use, it's because the people making it decided simplicity was too hard and shifted the pain of that decision to you.
  • Making customers for life. We believe that when we put in the work on your behalf and treat you like an old friend from day one, we'll make a customer for life.
  • Doing the right thing every time. No matter if it is our first or 50th product, we'll choose the right thing over the expedient thing. We'd rather spend the pain-staking hours getting it right so you can experience the joy of "it just works".
  • Making quality the only standard. It's not enough to be good. It must be great, because great is what we expect and what you want.

It's our commitment to you in your journey of gardening. It starts from our first interaction, and it will continue on for as long as we have done the hard work to earn your trust and your business.

"No Tools Needed" is our philosophy, and we hope that someday it will become yours too.
